Dr. Dipti Bavishi received her MD Degree in Calcutta, India at the Calcutta Medical College. Dr. Dipti Bavishi performed her first residency in the field of Ophthalmology at the Calcutta Medical College in Calcutta, India from July 1987 - June 1988. Her second residency in the field of Internal Medicine from July 1989 - June 1992 and fellowship in the field of Gastroenterology at the University of Illinois Hospital in Chicago, Illinois from July 1992 - June 1995. Besides English, Dr. Bavishi is fluent in Hindi ad Gujarati.
Dr. Dipti Bavishi's experience encompasses Private Practice - Gastroenterology in New Iberia, Louisiana from July 1995 - December 1996 and in Houston, Texas from May 1997 until present.
Dr. Bavishi has done research on Cellular and Modecular Mechanisms of Enhanced Intestinal Glucose Absorption in the Diabetic Rat at the University of Chicago from 1991 - 1992 and Investigation of Mechanisms of Sodium (NaCl) Absorption in Human Small Intestine at the University of Illinois from 1992 - 1995.
She has received grants from the National Research Scholar Award at the National Institute of Health in Bethesda, Maryland 1994-1995. With recognitions and awards from various areas such as Chief Resident and Excellent Performance as Chief Medical Resident at Christ Hospital (1992), Graduated in top 5% of Medical Class, National Merit Scholarship (Undergraduate), just to name a few.
Dr. Bavishi is Board Certified with the American Board of Internal Medicine (1992), and Gastroenterology (1995).
